Patient Confidentiality

Our staff are committed to respecting patient confidentiality at all times. Medical information will only be shared with the patient to whom it relates, unless explicit consent has been given to share it with another individual. The Practice reserves the right to withhold medical information if appropriate consent is not in place.

Practice Test Results

Patients are advised at the time of their test how long they should expect to wait for results.

Please be reassured that if any findings require attention, your GP will review them promptly and our administrative team will arrange appropriate follow‑up. This may include a repeat test, a telephone call, or an in‑person appointment.

After the advised waiting period has passed, patients are welcome to contact the Practice by telephone after 2.00pm to request information on their results.

Please be aware that our reception staff are not medically qualified and can only pass on instructions provided by the doctor. 

If you would like further clarification or wish to discuss your results in more detail, we encourage you to book a follow‑up appointment with your GP.

Hospital and Clinic Test Results

If your test has been arranged by a hospital consultant or carried out at a Clinic or Hospital, please contact the Clinic or Hospital directly for your results.

As these tests were requested by clinicians outside of the Practice, we are unable to action them on your behalf.

Should a consultant’s secretary or colleague advise that results will be forwarded to your GP, please explain that you wish to receive the results directly from the specialist who arranged them, as they are best placed to provide appropriate advice and guidance.
